Luminate
A spatial journey from machine perception to human movement.
About the project
Luminate explores the relationship between technology and people through an environment built from moving image and light. Created for Prosus Luminate London, the work moves from the ordered structures of machine perception towards the rhythms of human behaviour and organic life.
My contribution brought together visual research, motion design and site-specific development. Scanning animations, neural structures, vector fields and particle systems informed a visual language of connections, spreading forms and changing intensity. These experiments became a way to translate abstract ideas about artificial intelligence into a spatial experience.
The process developed through moodboards, material studies, animation tests, styleframes and projection simulations. Light, rhythm and the transitions between scenes were considered together, so the imagery could work with the architecture and the audience’s perception of the room.
